Karla Sosa Romo is the Supervisor Consulting Actuary at Actuarial Factor LLC since 2022. She assists Espy Mead in the overall management of the firm’s consulting actuaries in both the Miami and Mexico offices for the services the firm provides, such as reserving, pricing, product development, profitability analysis, captive feasibility studies, expert testimony, peer reviews, and mergers and acquisitions for all lines of business and in all jurisdictions in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Karla works in Actuarial Factor’s home office located in Miami, Florida.
Prior to joining Actuarial Factor, Karla’s 10 years of experience developed in Chubb (formerly ACE Group), Assurant Solutions and Seguros Monterrey (a New York Life Company) in various roles involving reserving and pricing for the Latin American market. Her expertise developed in P&C commercial and personal lines, Accident & Health, and Life Insurance. In addition, she has experience on extended warranties such as wireless, vehicle service contracts and extended service contracts, and Mergers & Acquisitions.
Karla graduated from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) with a Bachelor of Actuarial Science in 2011. She is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (2019) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (2019). Currently she is working to become a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
